I talked about doing a similar series before so I’m going to follow up on that now that I have some time. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this going on a regular basis or until I run out of obakemono. This series of posts will give information on different monsters in Japanese culture. Hopefully this will be able to spark someone’s interest in Japanese mythology. Anyways, today’s obakemono is the kappa.
For some reason, I’ve become interested in Japanese mythology; however, I really don’t know where to start. I found a website which has a few different versions of ancient scriptures, so I’ll probably be looking through those. Is anyone else interested in Japanese mythology? Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can start or where I can look?
