This one gave me the shivers just reading about it. I absolutely disliked spiders.

While not the most attractive looking obakemono, oni are of the most scary.

While potentially being really creepy, zashiki-warashi show that some obakemono are wanted.

Today’s morning myth is all about yuki-onna. There are many references to yuki-onna in anime and popular culture.

Morning Myth – Kappa

I talked about doing a similar series before so I’m going to follow up on that now that I have some time. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this going on a regular basis or until I run out of obakemono. This series of posts will give information on different monsters in Japanese culture. Hopefully this will be able to spark someone’s interest in Japanese mythology. Anyways, today’s obakemono is the kappa.
